She takes David to a cliff overlooking the city and tests his will to live. David convinces his mother to undergo treatment, and Valerie overcomes her nightmares. Toni throws a dinner party while her father is out of town. Bruno catches Dylan snooping around in Marchette's study. He tells Dylan that Marchette is aware that he is Jack's son. It turns out that Spencer isn't Charlie's son at all and she was desperate for money. Kirsten wonders if he'll be happy with her, knowing that she can never have children. To reassure her, they decide to adopt Owen.

But when Grandpa Campbell shows up, Ray makes the best of his visit. For the first time, Grandpa Campbell seems attentive to Ray and his family. Ray begins to see a new side of his father, as Grandpa Campbell gets involved with Tia and Tamera's projects for their school's entrepreneur week. When Grandpa Campbell leaves, Ray feels better about his relationship with his Dad, despite Grandpa Campbell leaving with some of Ray's money.

The episode opens with Æon chasing Bambara, a vicious man who frequently causes injury or death to those he encounters. Æon, ignoring his victims, pursues him through a train and onto a building site. Bambara escapes Æon killing a construction worker in the process but is captured by Trevor Goodchild. He inserts a strange robot into Bambara through the man's navel and he suddenly loses his darker side, becoming friendly to those around him and quickly befriending an orphan. Trevor says the robot is a 'Custodian', an artificial conscience of his creation which he hopes to implant in all citizens. Æon then meets up with an organization of women who are opposed to Trevor's project who are planning to remove the implanted Custodians and bring the operation to an end. Æon goes after Bambara's Custodian ....

Neely and Cody try to keep the four people alive on the sunken oil rig until help arrives when Mitch, Stephanie and Logan must find away to get into the structure to rescue them before the air supply runs out. At the end, despite Neely's heroic attempts and proving herself to be a very good lifeguard during the rescue, the Baywatch team still resents her presence and plans to give her a hard time. Logan finally gives into Gator's demands for the credit of the swim wear, and Mitch finally decides to join a detective agency.

Kimberly reveals that she is being goaded into violent acts by visions of a man named Henry. When Kimberly's mother learns of her daughter's plight, she plans to ship her back to Cleveland. Peter convinces Mrs. Shaw to tell the truth about Henry. She reveals that Henry was a gardener that eight-year-old Kimberly killed when he tried to rape her mother. Peter tells Kimberly that this revelation may lead to her release, as she can now be treated. Brooke tries to keep Jack away from Amanda. Jack stops Amanda from leaving town and asks for a divorce. Jo and Jake bicker over the amount of time he spends with Shelly. Alison refuses to help Hayley break up Billy and Brooke, but later joins him for a romantic dinner. Jo talks to Jane on Richard's behalf, and learns that Jane doesn't love him.

Maggie's 16th birthday is approaching and Fran intervenes in her father's plans for her party. Instead of a boring party at the Guggenheim Museum, Fran convinces Mr. Sheffield to have it at her aunt Frieda's bar. While the place is not nearly as fancy as the museum, Fran has to solve a very important family feud before the party can happen: her mother and Frieda haven't spoken to each other since 1979. The two make peace, but when Frieda comes out of the bathroom, her butt is showing and she blames Sylvia for the same embarrassment when they first fought. They start a food fight which quickly spreads to the whole party in a huge food war. When Mr. Sheffield walks in, he is shocked to see that scene and just when he's about to twist nanny Fine's neck Maggie thanks him for the best party ever.
