In the third season premiere, Ed's got major problems as the revamped Montecito struggles to finish work in time to re-open on new boss' Monica Mancuso's (Lara Flynn Boyle) schedule as he also tries to lure back Danny and his former staff to prevent a suspected "smash-and-grab" heist that has hit other casinos. But convincing Danny and the gang proves to be difficult since each has his or her reasons for leaving, and what's more, Ed suspects two construction hard-hats are planning an inside robbery once the Montecito's doors swing open again amid much fanfare.

Season 1, Episode 1
Jack Bourdain was a great chef four years ago until he made his own demise. Nowadays, he works in a children's restaurant run by his girlfriend. But his luck is about to change: Pino Lugeria, owner of Nolita, wants Jack to take over as head chef and to assemble a crew in 48 hours. For this, he goes back to his old friends offering all of them a chance to work together again. But this decision does not sit well with Pino's daughter, Mimi, who resents Jack.

Mona begins dating her handsome and charming new neighbor, Lorenzo, but her insecurities stand in the way of the relationship. Spencer changes his wardrobe in the hopes of getting people to take him more seriously.

Maya remarries, Toni demands a divorce, Lynn gets engaged and Joan freaks out. After a passionate reunion, Maya asks Darnell, "Now what?" The pillow talk is even more delicate at Joan's place. Having wound up in bed with William, Joan is unable to relax and consummate their On-again, off-again romance. William fears her reticence is "physical proof we don't belong together."

When Steve brings home a permission slip to take sex ed at school, Stan flips out and demands to teach it himself. However, after Stan unrealistically explains the birds and the bees to Steve, he gets into an accident that causes him to take matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Roger becomes a bartender in hopes of making something of himself.

As Pompey "maneuvers" outside the city, Caesar seeks to consolidate his hold on Rome. Pullo's run of luck continues when he delivers Quintus Pompey to Caesar, who in turn returns Quintus to his father's camp, with an offer of truce he knows Pompey will never accept.

He invites his family and Bill along for a weekend at the beach, but during the trip, Hank realizes that his friends are actually trying to avoid him because he’s uptight and bossy. Peggy advises Hank to throw caution to the wind and have some fun with his buddies, but the results leave Hank and the guys overboard.

Calvin learns that his mother and brother (Roz Ryan, Phil LaMarr) have known about his father's second family for years. The former mayor of Chicago (John Rubinstein) decides to run against Jimmy. After discovering Terri and Yinka's drug habits, Calvin forces them to enter drug rehab, led by an extremely confrontational drug counselor (Kevin Hart). Eddie's friends question his "deviant behavior" with Claire. Jen and Dana decide to open an urban bed and breakfast. Malcolm (A. Doran Reed) sues Calvin for invasion of privacy after he is caught on the surveillance cameras having sex in the back of the barbershop.

Jesse McCartney checks into the Tipton Hotel and Maddie, London, and Zack break into Jesse's room. Zack collects discarded items belonging to Jesse, so he could sell them. Cody enters a science fair, and receives help from Arwin.

Mr Bender decides to have each person in his class put an item that best represents them into a time capsule. Chase is desperate to know what Zoey has said about him in the video she made to put in the time capsule, and will go to any lengths to find out. Also, Nicole tries to help Quinn to stop snoring.
